GUIDELINES FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2023-24ADMISSION IN ENTRY LEVEL CLASSES(PRE-NURSERY, NURSERY AND BALVATIKA) IN GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS OF UT CHANDIGARH

 

These guidelines for admission of students at entry class of government schools of UT Chandigarh are issued in continuation of the Common Admission Schedule2023-24 circulated vide memo no- DEO/UT/CA/2022/69052-53 dated 15.11.2022.

 

  1. The Government Schools in UT Chandigarh shall follow the provisions laid down by the National Education Policy 2020 in terms of School Academic Structure at the Pre-primary 1, Nursery and Balvatika classes.

 

  1. To provide quality education with conducive class environment/facilities, all efforts must be made to ensure, as far reasonably possible, that the Pupil-Teacher Ratio (PTR), as per the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009, is maintained.

 

  1. Only children residing in UT Chandigarh shall be eligible to apply for admission to the entry level class of Government Schools in UT Chandigarh

 

  1. The children shall be admitted, in Government Schools in UT Chandigarh,as per the Area of Neighbourhood detailed in the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009. The admission shall be as per the following order of priority:
  • Children residing in the vicinity of 1 Km of the Government School
  • Children residing in the vicinity of 3 Kms of the Government School
  • Children residing beyond 3Kms of the Government Schoolwith the undertaking from the parent/s regarding safe transportation of the child.

 

  1. The age criteria to be followed for admission in Government Schools in UT Chandigarhis as under (Age as on 31.03.2023):

Pre- Primary Level –I (Pre- Nursery) 3 years + 01.04.2019 to 31.03.2020
Pre- Primary Level –II  (Nursery) 4 years + 01.04.2018 to 31.03.2019
Pre- Primary Level –III (Balvatika) 5 years + 01.04.2017 to 31.03.2018

 

  1. Duly filled application form for admission alongwith the following documents shall be required:

 

1 Proof of Date of Birth (i)          Child’s Unique Identity card (Aadhar) issued by UIDAI;or

(ii)        Child’s Passport; or

(iii)       Child’s Birth Certificate issued by the Registrar of Births and Deaths of Municipal Corporation or any other prescribed authority, whosoever has been  empowered under the Registration of Birth and Deaths Act, 1969 to register the Birth of a Child born in India.
2 Residential Proof (Parents residential proof in case Child’s residential proof is not available) (i)          Ration Card issued in the name of parents having name of child in Ration Card; or

(ii)         Domicile certificate of child or of his/her parents; or

(iii)       Residence Certificate of the child or of his/her parents; or

(iv)       Voter I – Card (EPIC) of any of the parents; or

(v)         Electricity bill/BSNL telephone bill/water bill in the name of either parent; or

(vi)       Unique Identity card (Aadhar) of mother/ father/child issued by UIDAI

Note- Rent agreement will not be accepted as a proof of Residence/Address
3 One passport size photograph

 

  1. In case any requisite admission document is unavailable with the parents, provisional admission for 30 days may be allowed on an undertaking by theparents/guardiansof the child confirming that they meet the school admission criteria and that within thisprovisional period, the admission requirements shall be supplied/complied with by them so that the provisional admission may be regularised.

 

  1. In case of selection of the child at the school, the immunization certificate is to be submitted by the parents /guardians within 6months from the date of admission.

  1. Copy of Report Card of Class 8th.
  2. Copy of Aadhar Card
  3. Copy of Bank Account
  4. Two Latest Passport Size photograph
  5. Copy of ST, SC, OBC Certificates if applicable
